The Newark Academy is the sample scheme in the  Nottinghamshire Priority School Building Programme (PSBP). The school has been designed to accommodate 1,320 pupils with a sixth form provision. The new building clusters learning spaces together by faculty and specialism, and creates a flexible, adaptable and safe environment.

We assisted the school with loose FF&E choices and helped the project team to achieve the tight bid deadlines. We achieved this by carrying out a detailed visual legacy survey of the school’s loose furniture. This was then represented on our schedule and drawings, allowing the project team to know exactly what was to be kept alongside the new FF&E.

Benefits:

  • Our specialists ensured integration between new and existing resources
  • Managed cost through managing accurate legacy furniture
  • Provided drawings and schedules to communicate spaces visually

During 2015 we have built on our strong working relationship to successfully deliver the Nottingham Priority Schools. A package of five Academies which required in depth design consultation, not only with Design Managers but also with the Education Funding Agency. Numerous site meetings combined with an open and honest communication has created a team effort in delivering the projects on time and within budget.
